I tried searching but no results came up about this topic.

My issue is when I am watching a PTV on demand VOD, and I try to skip through to the action or to wherever I left off last, the VOD freezes.  It doesn't matter if I try to click to a position that the video has buffered or not.  The little "loading" icon comes up and never goes away.  I've had this issue on three different computers, so I don't think it's hardware related.  Is this a common problem?  Is there a fix?  I am using Google Chrome, the player is running Microsoft Silverlight, and on this PC I'm using W7 64bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ye common problem with silverlight i heard. The player just has to load to the point where you clicked. It doesnt buffer from the point where you clicked. Best thing is just to let it load to where you want to watch and then click, otherwise you just have to wait till it reaches the point where you want to start again

Something to note, another site that I frequent that uses silverlight is e-rev, which I don't have this issue with.  I can even click to where it hasn't buffered yet and it behaves fine.  Any insight?

hmm, I no clue. Although I found out that Silverlight is now working correctly on my pc. After searching for what the problem was I found out that it was probably Firefox in my case.

I used to run the normal Firefox, but since yesterday I downloaded the new Firefox 3.6b1 Beta version, and everything seems to work right now... You should try it out also, maybe its just the browser that makes Silverlight crappy. I'd really like to see PTV use JW FLV player, it's the best webplayer that exists atm in my opinion

If we could use a flash player, we probably would.

The WMV player we use is actually by the same people that make the JW FLV player.

If you're experiencing problems with the player I suggest making sure your browser and silverlight plugin are up to date and ill see if there's a newer version of the player available.

I think Schwing missed this part of his post:
It doesn't matter if I try to click to a position that the video has buffered or not.

I also experience this behavior on my two machines:

Chrome
Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-Bit

Firefox
OS X 10.6

I just re-downloaded the newest version of the player, deleted the old version on our site and re uploaded.  I can't tell if there's any different although it seems like it might be buffering a little bit faster but someone with chrome take a look for me and see it if made any difference.
